There's a few threads on Vegas Hotels, but I thought I would ask away again in regards to peoples thoughts on hotel properties in Vegas.

I am quite excited that the Tropicana is becoming a Hilton property, with the loss of LVH I was reluctant to bother using Hilton properties again in Vegas however, this is good news. I have only ever stayed at the LVH where I have always had upgrades to junior suites or suites.

Wynn - I have found some reference to a special that they were running which they offered LAX/LAS transfers in their Embraer Private with some super suite for around 5K - this is also interesting but from what I could figure, the package was only 2 nights and there were no choices of rooms.

I'm thinking a little jaunt to Vegas in March as a surprise to SWMBO, I might even get married again (to her!) while there as it's a big wedding anniversary the following week which I will probably miss due to rostering.

At the moment, looking at SYD/LAX MAR13, return MAR18 LAX/SYD. I want a really nice hotel that has dedicated no smoking floors (prefer a no smoking casino!), prefer free valet parking as I will have a rental (Corvette this time :) ), prefer on the strip or as near to as possible...

Thoughts / experiences?

Mandarin Oriental

Stayed last year......:cool::D

The last photo was the view from our room. They also have an awesome bar that looks straight down the strip.

Have stayed at Wynn, Venetian, Bellagio, MGM, Aria and Mandarin Oriental (oh and Luxor, in 1995) and while they're all nice, I'd say my top 3 are MO, Aria then Wynn in that order. Bellagio has the best location and probably the best reputation, but Aria/MO are also very well located.

I usually narrow it down to a list I'm happy to stay at then see what deals are available.

Cheers
Febs.

Wynn is the best. I've stayed there every year since it opened, but have also stayed many times at other properties including Bellagio.
I haven't stayed at Aria, it looks good but I have an attachment to the Wynn, it's just so 'Vegas', but high-end.
MO is VERY nice but not a casino and could be anywhere in the world... you may as well not go to Vegas if you're going to stay in the MO.
(NB usually I will only stay at MO properties if there is one in the city I'm in - just not in Vegas. It's definitely the best chain in the world... in my humble opinion..!).

I am going to Vegas for my bucks in January and would love to hear more about the $5K private jet offer? Sounds good good to refuse. Anymore infor munitalP?
