La Vie takes over former Holiday Inn in Cairns

Could this development see Marriott expand their FNQ presence?

La Vie Hotels and Resorts has moved into Cairns after securing a new management contract for a 173-room property in the Far North Queensland city.

The group, headed by CEO Jerry Xu, has been appointed to manage Cairns Harbourside Hotel on the Cairns Esplanade overlooking Trinity Bay.

The latest deal comes just weeks after La Vie announced a new partnership with Marriott International, securing the hotel management contract for the future development of its first Westin Hotel on the Gold Coast.

The old Accacia Court next door was recently sold and is supposed to be refurbished and reopened soon as well.
