Traveled via from CUZ to LIM with overnight in La Paz in mid November,19. After landing at LPB, was advised that taxi not able to go thru to La Paz CBD because of roadblocks. To avoid uncertainty decided to stay in a hotel close to airport as had early morning flight out of LPB. Saw road blocks on the way to hotel. Taxi did not get stopped, only redirected. Wondering what has been the experience of AFF members in the recent past?..v

Went in there by bus, (own tour bus not local), back in June...traffic was ridiculous but we got there.
Of course this was before the protests.
Actually the guide got the driver to drop us off at the cablecar up top and we took that down and the bus met us at the bottom and drove another few blocks to the hotel.
Flight out was really early so no traffic problems then.

Glad you had a good experience. Cable car option was mentioned but I did not Spanish language skills or a local guide or the cable car schedule to get back to LPB for very early AM flight. So played it safe.

Been to La Paz a number of times the last being October. Had no problems getting in, out or around the city by any form of transport though things can change very quickly in Bolivia and La Paz in particular.
