With all the nightmare stories it was great today to witness a cancellation handled the way it should be.
A Brisbane based family member was booked BNE-SYD-HNL-SFO today. They were about to drive to BNE for leisurely departure when about 1:30pm they received an email advising that their HA 452 SYD-HNL flight had been cancelled. While still in a state of cancelled-travel-shock they received a phone call from an Australian based agent for Hawaiian providing a rebooked option to depart on QF/AA BNE-LAX-SFO tonight and arrive 20 minutes earlier than the original itinerary.
So far a big bouquet for HA.
It will be interesting to hear of other HA cancellation stories tonight
