Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

We have zero status....just points that expire in three years...and the seat availability is very good. The redemption fees are significant but let me say that 306,000 points to go in First from Singapore to London or Manchester return is one of my favourites. SQ will break out the best champagne and you should spend time in the Changi First Class lounge. Now the business class is really good too and that typically is two thirds of the points...plus you could get lucky and pull a Saver points deal for many less points.

that is seriously a **** load of points you have cove!

Scheps if I can encourage you to earn more or make your business larger then you can develop larger points totals each month. Post war baby boomers are heading into the retirement zone so you can get your chance as we shuffle off into the sunset or onto another SQ flight.

I've only been with SQ for 6 months, no status, but a waitlist for 2 pax MEL-AMS in J came thru within 48 hours.
Maybe I got lucky?

I think a lot of it depends on when you want to travel. Status trumps if a peak period.

As most of my trips are with children at school holiday periods my Departure and Arrival Flights are at periods that the airline knows will be popular.

May I ask when your flights were?

As I said...virtually all my flights are school holidays.
Xmas, Easter and July school holiday periods.
With Xmas there is a bit of scope, but with Easter and July you want to maximise the time away and so that means you want the exact same days as many others and so I try to book those a year out.

Swapping from QFF to SQ redemptions several years back has been one of the best decisions in life I have made as you simply get so much more if you want to fly J/F. By coincidence I just totalled up the flights made yesterday asa friend asked.

Redemptions in the last couple of years:

  • 5 J return to Vietnam 382.5K - SQ
  • 4 J to Europe in London, out Amsterdam, 637.5K -SQ
  • 1 J to London, 1 f Frankfurt to Melbourne 170K - SQ
  • 5 J return to coughket, 382.5 K - Thai there, SQ back
  • 3 F to Europe and 3 J back, Mel- Milan (Italy return), 450 K - SQ
  • 3J to Paris,3 J return from Istanbul (for next July) , 412K, Thai there, SQ back
  • 1JMel, Singapore, Cairo, Amman,Johannesberg London, 170 K, SQ, Egypt Air, Egypt air, SAA
  • 1JMel, Singapore, Cairo, Amman, Johannesberg, Melb, 190K, SQ, Egypt Air, Egypt Air, SAA (to Perth), QF (to Mel)
  • = 2.79 million points!!!!!!!!!!!
Only the Johannesberg, Melb was booked via QFF with SA to Perth and then onto MEL on QF metal.. All other flights are SQ or *A via SQ.

We are staying with both SQ and QF with Velocity as a spare.
Mrscove remains unwilling to go with many airlines so it is easier booking on a site we use all the time.
Well done lovetravellingoz! I can see you are fully into Kris Saver and other *Alliance carriers.
