Less Legroom, No Rafts: Qantas Airways Tries Extreme Diet - Bloomberg

More bad news - especially for those of us confined to cattle class!

For me it is time to bail out, but guess I will be stuck with a couple of toasters, seeing as the consensus of opinion here on AFF seems to be that award flights are now all but impossible to get - especially if you have limited options for planning ahead.

Been desperately trying to save enough points for a PE round the world flight, but if it is impossible to get, I'm just wasting my time. I do not believe Qantas will be around when I finally manage to secure an international flight of any sort.

I have now come to the conclusion that Frequent Flyer schemes are past their use by date. I've been with Qantas since Day 1, and have had a few flights, but it is now nothing like it used to be. Same with AA, Delta, and UA which I am also a long standing member of. The schemes have outlived their usefulness as an incentive, because the airlines have systematically destroyed them, along with in flight service, and everything else that once made them great.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
