Hi guys,

I've been scrolling this forum for a while now.. its so impressively informative but I feel so many of you are just 'naturals', you already know how to win at cheap flights, points, upgrades... I feel overwhelmed, I don't know where to start yet I'm enthusiastic to get on-board. I have accumulated just over 300000 points between both Velocity and Qantas - doing so mostly by credit cards. Now its time to use them :) and I have my sights set on travelling to the States. As yet I don't have permissions to request help in the flight assistance thread but Im guessing that will come in time - maybe after I've passed myself :) Anywho, I'm really looking forward to being part the Community! :)

No, we all started from the bottom, knowledge-wise!! The whole reason I got involved in this forum was because I once managed, in my ignorance, to book an overseas trip that netted me ZERO points. It was only when I researched why that I stumbled across this forum. I had no real idea what status credits were, what a "fare bucket" was, and back then had never set foot in a lounge. From there it has been an amazing combo of learning and "meeting" many fellow enthusiasts.
