Just been comped Platinum by Velocity

I was emailed out of the bkue by Velocity last week giving me complementary Platinum as a 'valuable corporate customer.' I hadn't applied for a status match or even booked a flight with them and had silver status as was. Anyone else getting this?

I'm not complaining, but just thought it strange.

I wish. I have gone from 2 years of platinum (since the status match) to Gold this year and will loose this at end Oct.

Had you booked anything lately.

i just booked a few flights and mentioned to the phone operator saying I was now attempting to re qual for VA having requalled for QF Platinum......hoping they might flag my account or something......

i must admit I like the flexibility to fly any airline and have some sort of status and lounge access.

it also worked for Delta access in the US.
