Judge rules cheap fares can result in less legal protection | Herald Sun

A JUDGE has ruled that passengers who book cheap flights have fewer legal protections against huge fees if they change their mind.

Justice Tony Cavanough yesterday ruled that Victoria's fair trading laws balance the cost of a fare with the rights of a passenger not to be subjected to an "unfair term" in an airline contract.

I missed this before, and only looked after hearing that Jetstar were going to be re-introducing the ability to change names on tickets....

(Personally, I think this is a bad thing...)
