Yes granted the environment and traffic volumes are different, but when you look at the quick and efficient decision making to invest and improve Airport infrastructure in SIN compared to how things are done here is Australia. We have lots to learn!

That is all good news.

The budget terminal in very budget in every way.

Not enough seats for all the departing flights.

I have used it a few times and always try and avoid it if possible.

I’m not sure a terminal with no aero-bridges in a country where it rains 177 days a year is such a smart move. That and I can’t imagine long-haul LCC’s pax being particularly impressed with walking across the tarmac before or after a long flight, nor with their recently purchased medium to high-end retail shopping!

Just avoid mid-afternoon flights or Nov-Jan! It may rain 177 days a year, but it's surprising how few of those days have sustained rain. Low cost or not, I bet they supply umbrellas!

When it rains, it's usually over in about 30 mins. It's not really something to worry about, to be honest. If I do get caught out in the rain, then I'll simply call that unlucky.

And the likes of Tiger will now get to used the T2. I wonder if these airlines will be charged more for the move.

OOL is not much better, lately getting 160 days a year, similar pattern too in terms of how it rains, ie storms or monsoons!

Personally will be sorry to see it go - I love playing the 'racing game' on arrival into Budget Terminal - you know with that extensive walk to immigration no matter where you are seated on plane or home lomg it takes you to deplane you can always be first arrival at immig if you walk quick enough - love the excercise.
