Has anyone done this.....

Paid $269 for a MEL-HNL fare. The day before is another flight with no fare diff. As I am wanting to cancel the trip can I....

Add a plus bundle for $99, change fee $75 then cancel the flight for a voucher.

Instead of the flight going to waste.

Refund would be in voucher. $269 + $99. $368 in fares for the cost of a $75 change fee?

Ive done this with Scoot a few times to my advantage not sure if anyone tried with JQ International?

I don't think the bundle can be added after the fact.

I went ahead and took and gamble and it worked.

Got $378 voucher within 5 mins in my email.

You got lucky - this is against the T&Cs:

A Jetstar Credit Voucher is not available if you have changed to a Starter fare with a Max bundle after making your original booking, or if you request a voucher after the Change Deadline

I assume you meant max bundle, not plus, as only max gives you cancellations.

The work experience kids must have been to JQ rather than QF last holidays...

I just cancelled two domestic bookings within the next 12 months that I did not require. SYD-CNS two bookings one way. $137 fare. Added $49 Flex Bundle. Got a flight credit of $186 for each within minutes to my inbox. Better than the fare going in the bin.

Win Win.
