A joint venture has today been signed between Accor Hospitality, Tainui Group Holdings and Auckland International Airport, to develop and operate a world-class (4-star plus) 260 room Novotel hotel at
Auckland Airport, to be completed in time for Rugby World Cup 2011.
Full text of the media release as announced to the Australian Stock Exchange is available here. It doesn't seem to be on the Auckland Airport website yet.

They haven't even finished the design yet and it's going to be built and fitted out and the staff are going to be hired and trained by 2011?
Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I just don't see how it can be done in that time frame.
