Hi all

I am thinking of taking the family Jetstar Star Class SYD - HNL return. I will be travelling with my parents, wife and my twin boys who will be 18mths at the time of travel.

So in planning all this I have a few questions for you experts and those who have used Star Class on the A330s (I've never been) -

1. What do you suggest are the best seats for the 4 adults? I was thinking 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B but I am open to suggestions. In particular I was thinking that 1A, 1B, 1D, 1E (I noticed that the 3rd seat is missing on the first row). So your suggestions please?

2. What are the best seats on the A330? I have check SeatGuru and other websites but nothing is listed for Jetstar.

3. I was planning to buy Star Class tickets up front but what have been your experiences with buying the cheapest fair and asking to pay $200 at the gate to upgrade to Star Class (I have read that this is possible)? Is it possible with 4 pax + 2 infants?

4. Other tips for travelling with 18mth twins or two young children.

Your assistance is much appreciated. :p

Hi There, the only good legroom in JQ starclass cabin is the front row. However, this may not be critical to you if traveling with children. But if any of your traveling party is tall or have long legs, get them into the front row (1) if you can. I thought the width of the starclass seats was ok though. If it was me, I would not bet on being able to buy upgrades on the day for a party of more than one or two. The flights I was on were full in Starclass, someone would not have gotten the possibility to upgrade 4 seats on one flight (I don't think this is likely on many or most airlines these days). Suggest you inquire what food or snacks you will get on board, and be prepared to bring your own for the little ones. Good luck.;)

As posted earlier, 2D is also a great leg room seat; no so good if travelling as a couple (then again, a 2D, 1E combination would work).
