Hi All

I have just had a look at some flights with Jetstar, not that I will fly them, it was work related!
I am surprised to see that they have now increased their "booking fee" to $17.00 per person. This appears to be recent, I am thinking May1.

Given that this only applies to payments made on Credit Cards (except Jetstar Mastercard) and Paypal, it is clearly a Credit Card fee. I am surprised that they think that a fare for $59 could possibly be worth a $17 ticketing fee!

This is clearly the highest of any airlines in Australia. I wonder if Jetstar feels that as most of their clients only travel ocassionally that they are less sensitive to the fee than more regular carriers.

An interesting move considering the RBA deliberations on surcharge at the moment!

Interesting - for bookings ex-HKG there is no booking fee for any card type! Must have realised they can't get away with it here...

Ex-Syd though $17 is absolutely laughable

Are you sure that you aren't confusing this with the $17 Plus package fee, which includes QFF points, seat selection, and no fees for changing flights?

it appears at the payment page "$17 for paying with Visa Card"

Personally I am more amazed that someone can travel on a multi-million dollar aircraft for just $59.

That's nothing try booking Singapore - Kuala Lumpur for $5SGD One-Way....

Oh is that what business they're in now. I thought the fee was for financial mangement.

Holy carp! $17 per person booking and credit card fee, that is just ridiculous, I can't believe the RBA thought it would be fairer for everyone when they brought in the credit card rules a couple of years ago. On some jetstar fares that will be 30%!

How about Paypal, $51 per person, per flight!

I just did a dummy booking MEL-SYD return and it comes back as $17, so must be $8.50 per person, per sector, still ridiculous!
