Hi,
I recently caught JQ951 from CNS-MEL.
The scheduled departure is 8:15.
The incomming plane from MEL, is scheduled to land at 7:45, which it did, infact i think it was a minute or two early.
By the time the plane was unloaded, and we boarded and pushed back from the gate at 8:45 we were 30 mins late by my rough calc. There weren't any issues to my knowledge, people were streaming off the plane then we all boarded about 5 mins after. But the time it took for a full plane simply obliterated the allotted time for the turn around.
1) Is this normal? Seemed completely rediculous to me to only allow 30 mins turn around for a full A320.
Our plan arrived in MEL only a few mins late due to the pilots "catching up time".
Is it reasonable to assume that due to airport restrictions or laws or some other reason, Jetstar puts the departure time down as 8:15 knowing full well it will rarely leave on time, but it does this to meet these restrictions?? (I'm guessing here)
I just found it quite bizarre!
