I had the "pleasure" of flying Jetstar on Monday HBA MEL and then last night SYD HBA.

I have been thinking of making a push on attaining a reasonable status with QF this year to complement DJ Gold for domestic travel, and as QF schedules don't always work from HBA I may have to resort to the occassional Jetflex fares when the price is competive to the others on offer.

However given my Jetstar experience on these 2 flights I am really reconsidering this decision. The Aircraft was an Airbus A320, and appeared to be a relatively new aircraft. Seats did not recline (thank goodness!) as there was simply not enough room for people to sit with their knees straight in front of them. The space between the front of the seat, and the back of the seat in front was without doubt the smallest space I have ever seen. I do not recall previous JQ flights being as cosy as this!

Then website tells me that there were 177 seats on the plane, which seems right with 30 rows, but I am still in shock at the limited space for knees!

Given me DJ anyday!

They’ve been that way for a while. I’m 6 foot and my knees are always pressed up against the seat back in front of me.
