OK so I have booked my first Jetstar Asia flight.

I booked a one-way KUL-SIN-SYD-BNE via Expedia and requested aisle seats. When I checked the booking on Qantas website I was pre-allocated 16A for Jetstar Asia flight and Aisle requests for the 2 Qantas flights. So I went to change seats and cannot do it for the Jetstar Asia flight so requested Aisle seat and selected seats for the other 2 flights. Original seat allocation now gone.

Flight not until October.

See if you can get the JQ PNR and then you might be able to select your seats online with JQ direct for their standard seat selection fee.

Are you on 3K code or QF code?

Jetstar Asia charges for seat selection, you are stuck with what you get if you don't/can't allocate a seat. You may be able to do so for a fee on the 3K website (not sure). You used to be able select a seat on check-in free of charge. Now they also charge for seat selection during check in process. :(

I have a QF codeshare. I don't mind paying the seat selection fee. Just want to make sure I can get aisle seat pre-allocated and not leave things for the last minute.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was just going to call Qantas to see what I need to do to get seat allocated and notice I have now been allocared 16C. I guess that's a good thing.

Who would have allocated the seat? Expedia?

I have flown them 3 times SIN-BKK and every time I have been allocated 16A.
As a person who prefers a window seat it fine for me.

QF codeshares on 3K ex-SIN seem capped at row 16. On a recent booking I changed a leg from 16C to Aisle but after a couple of days it just reverted to 16C.

I retrieved the booking through jetstar.com and noticed that while any seat selection has to be paid for, the booking actually has some credit for seat selection. Don't think I'd ever picked up on that before.

The credit was around $5.50 for each sector, which was merely 13 cents less than the cost of selecting a normal (non-upfront) seat :)

Gave me a bit of a chuckle to charge $0.26 to my Amex (even if it doesn't earn a QFF point). And the selections show in the Qantas booking page.

3D, 16C and 17A were the seat allocations for a family of 3 including 2 year old.

Now in row 21.

Some weird things happening with 3K bookings.

I'm certain I allocated aisle seat for 3K512 this morning but given boarding pass for 11A. Asked for aisle seat and was asked 1C was OK. Who am I to complain? ;)
