Hi all,

I am starting to research one way flights to Europe in July or so next year. I currently have about 200,000 points, if I can wait until late August to book I will have around 215,000.

I understand the flights I am after are not yet available, so I am looking at April next year (as the latest available date) to see what is around. I want to use the minimum points on a JASA, so will be using points and pay.

I want to fly SYD-DBX and have a couple of days before flying to CDG. Ideally I would like to fly on QF metal or alternatively EK. If need be, I will fly any airline that gets me the flights I want for the right points though.

BUT when I look online my options seem to be Sydney-Dubai-London-Paris (which makes for a very high points value) or another option going via Melbourne. When I try a multi-city SYD-DBX-CDG I keep getting an error saying it can't be processed.

Does anyone know if it is possible to book the route I am after, and if so, what I am doing wrong??

I believe you can only book ASA's on Qantas metal hence no direct flights between DXB and CDG. Not sure why you can see them LHR-CDG. You might be better booking them as separate tickets.

I think that to CDG you are not allowed to stopover in DXB for a time period greater than 24 hours. Can't remember where I read this though.

Ahh this makes sense... It looks like I will need to book SYD-DBX as an ASA and DBX-CDG as a classic... Thanks for your assistance, I knew this forum would sort me out!
