Istanbul to the states

I'm hoping some one can help me. Hoping to use the 140,000 RTW qantas FF point option. I can fairly easily get from Brisbane to Istanbul on the 3 june hoping for a about 10 hrs in Dubai for a catch up with friend, but am wanting to fly to States first destination Boise for a wedding on Saturday 6th July returning to Istanbul from NYC on about the 15th July. Has anyone got some suggestions on flying to States. i think flying via Amman with RJ might be a good possible option if can get a fairly direct flight into States still searching. Not sure of best option for returning as cant have Istanbul as another stop over. Then flying home from Istanbul Via Amman back to Brisbane with a week approx in Jordan (22-29 July approx).Unfortunately the wedding date is to early, as would have been great to fly straight back from States. I would happily post in the section where you pay & pay for ideas but i dont meet that criteria yet.

So your wanting to fly the long way around to the US via Europe to get there and back??? Even a pretty direct route from BNE to BOI (via say DXB and IST there and back) comes in at nearly 33,000 miles and you have a limit of 35,000 miles so your not going to be able to make many deviations with a 140k OW award... In Europe your airline options are BA, IB, AB and AY to get from IST or DXB over to NYC and back... You can also fly AA if you can make it to LHR or HEL or TXL i would imagine... You also have RJ in the ME but i don't think you can use Qatar yet...

So you could fly to DXB then BA to LHR and then BA/AA onto JFK... IB i probably wouldn't bother about or AB (I assume IB has flights to NYC from MAD, not sure about AB)... The AY option via Helsinki might be good as well (i'm assumiung they have an NYC option as well as not looking at the airlines maps at present or maybe AY DXB-HEL and then AA from HEL??)...

thanks for your info, will look into those airlines. Why do you not recommend IB &AB, what is RJ like ? Im going to Turkey for a holiday, before the wedding, unfortunately the wedding date is before i finish my hols in Turkey & Jordan,so yes long way round. Otherwise would fly home from States as was planning to go anyway. I have found cheap FF from MAD to ORD return NYC to MAd for 63000Ff and $100. I got 34,000 miles when i did a rough itinerary. BNE, HK, AMM, IST stopover then IST,LHR,ORD,SEA stopover. Then NYC to IST, need come into closeby airport as this would be 2nd stopover in same city. IST, AMM, BNE . I have tentatively got a FF Emirated flight intoIST via DXB for for 56,000 and$170 one way. Which i think is super cheap, would love to keep this flight but cant include in my 140,000 deal, pity. So have a few options try and do it all on 140,000 FF, or use FF flights independently and subsidise with cheap flights. Any ideas for cheap return flights To States from Europe or any other ideas to get into Dubai(want to catch up with old friend for several hours) on non emirates flights without huge taxes.
