Hi. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is anyway you can get a one off pass to the qantas lounge? I have a 8 hour layover at LA in a couple of weeks and i am willing to pay a hundred or so dollars if there is one avaliable.I have a disability and cant just venture out of the airport or anything.

Welcome to frequentflyer.com.au B :)

Post the dates you will be in LAX and perhaps someone will be travelling that same day to let you in for free!

It's my understanding you could pay like 50 bucks to get in, but i'm probably wrong so ill shutup now and wait for a pro to reply

Assuming you will be starting the trip from Australia, you could consider joining AAdvantage and undertaking their Platinum Challenge. Depending on the airfare paid, you could attain AA Platinum status by the time you reach LA.

Since you say you have an 8 hour layover, I assume this pard of a connection on the return journey to Australia since the LAX-Australia flights depart late at night (except QF8). So with AAdvantage Platinum status (OneWorld Sapphire) you can get access to the AA Lounge at T4 when departing on an international flight, or to the QF lounges at TBI if departing from that terminal.

What you don't get with AAdvantage Platinum status is access to AA's Admirals Club lounges when flying with AA domestically, except if you have a same-day international connection on a OneWorld airline.

To think I gave one of these away, it's at $137.50 with 2 hours to go.

Ditto!

I'd laugh if someone wanted to win it to use it in a domestic lounge around 10am in the morning. $150 or so for a newspaper, coffee and comfy chairs.

Now if they had a 12 hour layover in Hong Kong or Singapore, then I could see some value... but not $150

If anyone is still interesed - I've listed one the same

After the success of the auction above, I've listed one as well.

Don't think I'll get $137 for it though.

Ebay Item is 6545749153

As a longtime lurker, I thought I might save some money from the tips here - but I'd never thought I'd make anything out of it.

Cheers

If you travel a bit on multiple airlines, but not enough to earn "Status", you may consider www.PriorityPass.com membership. 3 levels of membership, depending on your likely usage - cheapest would be USD99 1 year membership + USD24/visit... Most also have a one-off fee if you're not interested in a membership.

They have 450 lounges and 250 airports covered around the world. In LAX, they are in Terminals 2, 5 and 6 - don't know what airline/terminal you're arriving on, but no lounge in Term 4... In Australia, theyr only and Sydney (International only) and Melbounre

Don't you what your needs are, but worth considering.
