Haha, Rex is partly blaming Facebook:

Rex responded with a statement saying it ‘‘makes no apologies’’ for restricting public access to comments deemed ‘‘abusive, vulgar, racist’’ or (even merely) ‘‘biased or unreasonable’’. And that some comments may be restricted by Facebook itself.
As mentioned in the article Rex can't censor twitter posts so I guess that's the best place to catch the unfiltered view (for now).
 
Perhaps the Singaporean attitude to free speech influences the way they run the airline since Singapore interests are the majority shareholder.
