Is it just me, or is the Family Pooling amend option gone?

Sorry, not gone - as in Family Pooling gone away, but gone, as in WHERE one can change it?

I still greatly dislike the new website. Changing Family Pooling used to be 30 seconds and a few logical clicks. Have used it many times before, with partner pooling swapping when needed.

Trying today to change pooling from my partner to me, to be in reverse direction, now I have requalify as Platinum again, and want to get her there soon – have had 650 SC this month to get sorted.

Have wasted an half hour today trying to change us over. Time I will never get back again.

I spend 12 hours a day on computers, and most things like this are no issue.

I try in Firefox and in Microsoft EdgeIE browsers and NOWHERE can I now see a way to swap us over. None of the links on the family pooling current site are clickable in any way for me.

Followed all the prompts below. It tells me her credits are all coming to me, but nowhere can I see anything to click that allow that to be altered backwards in the other direction now she needs the SC, and not me.

Can anyone else see where the changes can be made?

Is this a new glitch? Not sure if I have used it under the new website.

Family Points Pooling

(I too dislike the 'experience' website.)

If you are a beneficiary (i.e. Being Pooled to) I can't see a link to change. You need to log into the "Benefactor's" (being pooled from) account.

When logged into the benefactor's account, I see that below. The only thing active is the 'Stop Pooling x". I suspect you need to select that first.

I went to do this just yesterday and I couldn’t work it out either. My work around was to remove pooling altogether and the reinstate it with the other person as beneficiary.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have the options

Have you reached any limits from the below?

14.5 A maximum of five (5) new Contributing Accounts may be linked to a Beneficiary Account in any Calendar Year.

14.6 A Contributing Account may be linked to a maximum of two (2) new Beneficiary Accounts in any Calendar Year.

Glad it was not just me. :D

You and serfty seem to concur that is exactly the issue.

Talk about a flaw in the Velocity system - a simple button or checkbox to - "REMOVE ANY EXISTING FAMILY POOLING OPTIONS NOW IN PLACE". How simple is that?

Why I should need to do it all via partner's account seems a further waste of everyone's time. All I want to do it set up my future SC to go to her and it SHOULD be a 60 second switch.

I am quite sure under the older user friendly Velocity website this COULD be done from either account? Does anyone recall?

Add me to the list - I tried to change a Family Pool this week and it took me forever (and a lot of swearing) to work out what to do.

I'm fairly sure on the previous Velocity page you could alter it from either account (benefactor or beneficiary), but now you can only cancel or create a family pool from the benefactor's account.

I've had an exhaustive few days just trying to figure out how to transfer points between family members. I even messaged Velocity on facebook to ask, but they politely referred me to the call centre. I ended up finding it on my own, but I can't believe the facebook team couldn't point me to the right page on my dashboard to complete this.

To amend family pooling, Serfty is quite correct - log in from your wife's account and cancel from there. I control all 6 of our family's accounts, as there's no way I could teach them how to navigate the new site.

Think you'll find that its always been the case that the 'contributor' had to create, and subsequently break pooling relationships.
The website looks a bit different, but the way pooling operates hasn't.
Makes sense from an account security perspective i guess.

With the family pooling... it states that I can have 6 people attached to the account (2 over 18). So I have myself (account holder) and my husband and two kids attached to family pooling fine. But when I add my mum it won't allow her as it states that I have reached the limit.
Is the account holder classified as one of the adults? I read it as 2 extra adults and up to 4 kids.
Arrrrgh...

It's as it says on the tin "two members 18 years or over and up to four members less than 18 years of age" I'm guessing you & husband are over 18, therefore your '18 or over' limit is reached.

I've a bit confused by the definition of 'new'. My daughter turned 18 this year and is in the middle of a trip now. Virgin had emailed me prior to ask that I remove either her or my wife as you can only have two adults in a pool (including myself). I removed my wife from the pool but plan on reinstating my wife before December. Does 'new' mean entirely new person or does new mean a new change?

Also the new website - horrible, just horrible.

OK. I read it as you can pool with up to 6 family members, meaning I can add up to 6 family members, not that I as the account holder was included in that...but I see that that is what it means as I am in the pool as well.

I've previously asked this question. New means new person and you'll have no problem reinstating your wife, as long as you remove your 18 year old daughter first of course.

Thank God for AFF
I've been on the computer for 20 minutes trying to work this cough out
I nearly smashed up my nice new Macbook
Now I know it isnt just me who is struggling

All done. Took my Mum off. Mrs D now on
Pooled the kids together - one might, just might get status
