Mine is a 3GS which might explain the difference in DL size.

Also using the personal hotspot over Bluetooth (wifi not an option) quite well - which might steer my choice of iPad 2.

Hard to tell if safari is snappier due to the poor signal on this line.

Note that using hotspot/Bluetooth combo seems to overcome the downloads over 20MB restriction...

Wont lie, been using it since last week (or whenever it was made GM). Not noticed any Safari differences in speed :p

Wireless Hotspot on the IPhone4 works nicely.

Just need to unlock the phone and get a prepaid sim when I'm in the UK and I won't have to travel with my Netcomm MyZone anymore. (Always good to reduce the amount of traveling "essentials".

Tony,

Just as an aside, how do you find the MyZone? I bought one today to use with my ipad and laptop (don't have an iphone, and can't see one in my future - work provides us with blackberries only).

Will use the MyZone with my existing 3 SIM for now, but will probably change over to a Telstra (not Bigpond) SIM soonish for better coverage.

Took nearly an hour to download from Telstra 3G. Not to mention the big chunk off my data plan! I'm solo iPhone 4 with 3G now. Where it said "Internet Tethering" before it now says "Personal Hotspot" with wifi, bluetooth and USB options. :)

At least it installed by itself which is something an iPhone 4 restore can't do (your iTunes needs another internet connection apart from the iPhone 4 - unless you are using a jailbroken method). A nice catch 22 Apple - you find out about this when it's too late! :)

Can't see that the horrible bluetooth audio quality has been fixed. :(

IOS 4.31 is out now! With an iPhone4, iPad, and iTouch, and Mrs H with an iPad and iPhone4 I'm just pleased I have a decent usage plan with my ISP!!!!!

Hi Mat, I have a MyZone and have travelled extensively with it. No major issues, reasonably good battery life and will happily run several of the Shrek family devices at once. I use a Telstra sim here, great coverage.

Sorry Mat I missed your post.

The MyZone is great for me. Like Princess Fiona says battery life is good - 3-4 hours and can be charged via USB from the PC.

I have a Three sim for the UK and an Optus sim for Australia and run my iPad and PC off it when I'm traveling.

Saves me a fortune in hotel wifi charges. Speed has been about 1.5 mb so not too bad for browsing and emails.
