Hi all,

Long time listener, first time caller :)
Just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for providing some great info on the forum.
I do have a few questions too.
I am travelling to Mexico in a few weeks (was suppossed to be Cuba as well, but thanks to Mexicana that has been shelved...another story).
Anyway, my flight is with Virgin Blue from Melb - Bris and then V Australia to LAX (arriving at 0700).
I then have an Alaskan flight to Cabo (1025).
My questions are, the V ticket and Alaskan ticket are seperate tickets, however, they do have an interlining agreement. What are the chances of my bags getting checked through to Cabo on seperate tickets with a Melb check in?
Also, V arrive at the TB Int Terminal in LAX and Alaskan depart from T3. Is there enough time?
By the way...I am a Customs Offcer and would be happy to answer general questions anyone may have.

Cheers :)

Hi acoolbreeze,
All luggage needs to be collected at TBIT and then "redeposited". Your luggage should be OK MEL BNE LAX. That time interval will be more than enough for you to walk from TBIT to T3. There is a shuttle between the terminals but it travels anticlockwise so T3 is the last stop after. The walk outside is much better (wouldn't call it "nice") after being in a seat in a 'plane from Oz, and it's not far at all - exit TBIT, go left and the roadway turns right - the next building is T3.
Enjoy
