Hi All,
Sorry for the newbie question.

Can I put an international economy one way and international business classic rewards back all on the 1 PNR?

The reason I asked is because buying international economy with cash is a lot more expensive as a one-way than a return.

I know that if I go for international economy classic rewards to come back, there will not be a problem. But I wonder whether it is also possible on an international business classic rewards?

Many thanks.

I think it has to be done online ie Telesales can't/won't do it.

The main issue is when a commercial fare and award fare are combined on the same ticket the more restrictive fare conds apply to both sectors.

I once tried to get a Classic Award in J released SYD/HNL which I wanted to combine with an AUD479.00 sale fare HNL/SYD - no deal.

They said I would need to purchase HNL/SYD separately but at USD1,400.00 one way no thanks.

Ended up purchasing a Saver fare SYD/HNL and Sale fare HNL/SYD on the same ticket and doing a points upgrade request on the outbound sector which cleared 3 days prior.

What dates sectors are you wanting to fly?

Hi ozbeachbabe,

I can't find any way to do a mix economy/business trip online. the drop down box is either economy or business. If I choose economy, I can see premium economy as well, but not business.

I don't really mind about the restrictive fare condition - just want to book it without paying the premium for one way tickets.

Also, it makes no sense to put up with the uncertainty of a points upgrade to business for 50k when a straight out business class award is only 65k.

When I purchased the ticket using a gift voucher (to avoid cc fees) the availability displays appeared to have more options unlike regular availability displays from the QF homepage ie it displayed classic awards and business sale fares amongst other fares.

One option would be to purchase a QF gift voucher for the number of people who are travelling in the exact names as per their passports then see if you can view more fare options when you following the link to redeem your voucher for a booking.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
