12-18 months means it wouldn't be ready for the Commonwealth Games unless they worked overtime to get it installed.

Had a look at the piles of dirt at the airport where the international terminal should be yesterday, from my uni. Looks pathetic, and I'm sure the athletes and fans flying into the Gold Coast will think so too when they have to disembark via the stairs/ramp in the rain.

Have heard it will be in for the Games. Apparently sitting in a box just waiting to be placed in position, earthworks pending (or maybe not??).

Will the international terminal be ready for the Games?
No, the terminal expansion project has been postponed. Only the Apron expansion for additional aircraft parking will be completed. Now that the green light has been given for the ILS I expect it will be dusted off and installed fairly quickly. The only issue to address before installation is the PFOS contaminated ground that needs to be disturbed to lay the required foundations.
