So on the Virgin Australia wiki page it says that its adding new routes to Tokyo and Seoul in about 6 months. But when I try to Google it I find nothing. Is this true? and if so what planes will they be using? They can't fly a 737 to Tokyo can they?

Yeah thats what I'm thinking. When i saw it on their wiki page i even checked the Seoul Airport wiki page and it says that Virgin will start flying there.... but i guess anyone can post to Wiki, so its possible someone just added it for ****s

They will have spare A330 cap by then, I note Singapore is listed, that's been coming for longer than the DRW lounge.

What are the chances of this, given their recent strengthening of ties with SQ? More competition on SYD-SIN would be great...

VA were looking at it 5 years ago around the time Junkstar decided Hawaii was better. Also they launched a global map at the time ....with a flight path to Japan. Who knows? Maybe.

And already edited out.

For what its worth the destinations were added on 15-May by a non-Wikipedia member (always a sign of bad info)

And from an IP in the Phillipines.

Thinks its safe to let this thread die.

Saw this at KUL yesterday afternoon.......is this a new destination?
Must admit that I was somewhat surprised and excited.
...or can someone explain what's that plane doing at KUL?

Ah! That explains it. Thought for a moment that that are expanding their international destinations!

I don't know the answer to that question but what I do know is I have been searching on Skyscanner for CNX-SYD for travel in April 2015. One of the options is CNX-KUL on Air Asia and KUL-SYD on Virgin Australia. I didn't look at the details of who is operating the flight but it was there.

VA have codeshare flight numbers on Singapore and Silk Air between AUS and KUL - perhaps it was that?
