Impact of no show on QF flight

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone can help shed some light on whether my upcoming trip is OK or not. I've booked 3 red e-deal Y seats seats PER-BNE for SWMBO, son and me next month, however SWMBO is flying a couple days earlier now under a group booking. Given costs of cancelling etc i figured it best to just use our 3 tickets for just me and my son. Is this going to be OK if we rock up to airport and generate tickets for 3 but then one person doesnt show? I cant see why QF wouldnt mind given its been paid for and i let them know when i'm in the lounge that she a no show. Advice appreciated

Are they all on the one PNR? If so get SWMBO a separate PNR so it doesn't affect the rest of you travelling.

As noted by AIRwin if there is a return on the same PNR then it will be cancelled once the first sector is missed. You might be better off ringing up and discussing your options with QF.

Finally, the seat will be reallocated to someone else if required by QF.

Can you please advise where this is stated in the terms and conditions for domestic flight bookings?

AFAIK, domestic only flights within Australia are booked on a one-way basis, and I don't recall a requirement made or listed in regards to an airline cancelling a second one-way booking, on the same itinerary (e.g. a return flight) if a previous one-way flight on the same booking is missed?

Thanks for comments. Its a one way fare so no worries about losing any return leg. Does that mean i still need to get a separate PNR?

If you check the third person in (and obtain a boarding pass) you will need to advise the gate staff that they are not going to fly, otherwise they will be looking for them and most likely page them.

Will it work to keep your empty seat? Probably... unless the flight is delayed, or very full, and someone if looking to transfer to the flight at the last minute. In that case they'd get the empty seat.

If you split the booking, I think you might be able to get a credit for the unused seat for use at some other time?

Agree. Split the booking and cancel your wife's booking. You should be able to get some sort of credit to use on a future booking.
