Hi all,
I'm a relative novice to the IHG program, but through these forums have learnt plenty of points over the last 6 months - thank you!

I just stumbled across this promotion - The IHG Big Win. I haven't really got into the detail, but after a seemingly quiet time on the bonus points codes, there look to be some opportunities to earn from 1st Sept.

Having done a bit more research, it seems that everyone's offers will likely be different, or at least the achievements levels will be different. Suspect it's very targeted and your IHG history and staying patterns will have been analysed. Also likely that as its individual specific, there won't be codes as such to take advantage of other offers.

Offer is valid from 1st Sept to 31st Dec inclusive. For info & comparison, my offers are thus...

Note that ten examples given are not the only hotels that you can stay at to trigger the bonk, click participating locations, the CP Hunter Vally and IC SC are resorts you can use for instance.

This is essentially a crack the case promo redone.

Like you day-heg, I've been "stitched up"... though I guess something is better than nothing (e.g. when the Crack the Case promo was on, no one could sign up unless they were targeted or used coercion).

Mine is very similar to yours - a total of about 70k up for grabs, 35k if I can complete all the offers, but one of them is stay at a Holiday Inn Resort, which is next to nil chance of happening. My dining spend requirement is not as high as you, but the points reward is much lower, too.

Realistically I'd be in with a shot at about 45k in points. Total of 128k up for grabs.

Certainly individual specific, with no qualifying stays this year and only IHG Gold via Velocity, I received the following:

Mine all up is 106100 (assuming the Big Win is additional to all the others and not just the total as it almost adds up perfectly) EDIT - Yes it is, the top right of the page displays the total possible points offer.

Anyone read if stays booked prior to registration will count? I've only seen some vague reference to "must be pre-registered" so I'm assuming not (but luckily my IC SYD stay is cancellable)

Happened to me with "Crack-the-Case" - 30 months of platinum and 150k points for no additional or unplanned ICH stays (10 nights, Oct through May).

It seems IHG have been infiltrated by the VA school of marketing & client retention! I've racked up about 40 nights at IHG properties (80% HI Potts Point) since April and seem to have been offered little incentive to remain loyal... yet others who have few stays have been offered 10's of thousands of points more at much lower qual rates.

How to upset the loyal customers whilst chasing new cliets.... sound familiar swanning_it?!!?

My bloody word it does........except I'm on the sponging side this time around! I've had 1 IHG stay this year and I do genuinely understand your frustration :evil:.

I will be going for these points, but funnily enough, I was booking some IC stays regardless, but please don't blame us.....blame the IHG marketing dept.!

I'm just hoping this seemingly blatant push to win new clients may spur a bit more imagination into Hilton, who have been pretty ordinary this year with loyalty offers.

I take it these points are not elite qualifying points? Are they accrued in addition to normal stay points and if I list miles in lieu of points (which I have recently done in view of upcoming IC stays), will that effect the earn potential for this offer?

That I think is the stock standard offer to people that haven't stayed with a IHG for a while. 5 out 6 in my family got that.

Does seem like it as I've only stayed with them twice since joining up in June. One was a non-qualifying best price guarantee at the IC Sydney and the other was a 2 night BPG stay at the HI Parramatta.

Out of a potential 104k I reckon I can pick up 40k or so without too much trouble. The resort stay is no chance.
