Flying J on Iberia (codeshare on BA points) DBV-MAD next week and Iberia just sent an email notification that Privilege (3rd party operator, private charter company) will be operating the flight. They will be sending us a discount voucher to thank us for our understanding as well apparently.

2 questions:

1) It was clearly stated on BA that it was Privilege operating for Iberia when I made the booking, so I'm unclear why they felt the need to send this automated offer - has anyone come across it before? (I presume it was b/c some customers, especially J customers, might not have noticed when making the booking and be annoyed when some things are missing on Privilege vs Iberia - eg, they don't have onboard WiFI)

2) Whilst I'm at it, I did some quick research when making the booking, but couldn't find anything amiss (and it was by far the most suitable flight option that day) - does anyone know much about Privilege?

Thanks!
