Might be a bit egoistic, but for those who may be interested, GlobalGiving and HHonors are accepting donations in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

You can earn 10 HH points per USD donated, up to a maximum of 100,000 points. Basically the same rate as staying in a Hilton room, sans the bonuses you would get heaped on top of that. These are not base points, so don't count to status.

GlobalGiving - Donate: Hilton HHonors disaster relief efforts

I assume there are no restrictions for non-USA-based accounts or credit cards, but I haven't tried this myself so apologies if it doesn't work.

Hat tip to the FT Boarding Area where I found this link.

I find the Fuel Relief Fund rather amusing (and their logo, "The Next Best Thing to Food, Water and Shelter").

Good idea, but the key word in there is Bonus, so doesn't count towards status.

"From now until December 31, 2012 we will give you 10 HHonors Bonus Points for every $1 USD donated to support the relief efforts."
