I'm sure this has been covered many times but I'm embarrassed to admit I don't know where to look. My wife and I want to book a one-way flight from Brisbane to Singapore in November (I want to reserve our cash for RTW in Dec-Jan so want to use points for the Singapore flight). I've seen threads discussing the exorbitant cost of "Taxes" on Qantas (~ $500 plus 60k points) and thought there might be a way to use our points with another airline for lower taxes. My problem is that I don't know how to book a Non-Qantas flight online with Qantas points, of even if it's possible. I'd like to see what the Tax is with other One world partners before committing. Is there a thread that has already discussed this?

Any advice will be appreciated.

BruceBris you can fly Emirates BNE to SIN. Use the Qantas booking engine to see availability and taxes.

You should be crediting the points to a OneWorld program to avoid the surcharges, any QFF points locks them in.

Oh. So there's no financial benefit going other than Qantas on Qantas points. Oh well, looks like I might as well just go with the Qantas option. Thanks.
