Hi guys!

This is such a great site. I've saved time, money and a LOT of points by taking your advice - thank you again for helping someone very new to the world of FF points!

Im moving to the UK as I mentioned in my prev thread, and will be over there for 2 years...Im just wondering if aside from flying Qantas itself there are other ways I can earn points whilst over there - my goal is to have enough points for a 64,000 one way trip home in two years.

I guess what Im wondering is if there are QFF cards that are UK based, or 'international' in nature with no heavy penalties for withdrawals / purchases. I guess its probably unlikely, but thought I would try ;)

And if not, are there any UK based FF cards for say BA or other airlines that are good in helping to rack up points? Im going to travel as much as money will allow once Im over there, so hopefully that will help a little!

Thanks again for all your help! Ive now got a few friends checking out the site because I keep going on about it :p

Kind regards,

Mandy

PS if anyone is going to be in Syd on 31st March at QC, or Singapore on 27th April at QC come and say hi!

fly any of the airline partners including ba
rent a car
link a woolworths card and get someone to use it once or twice

A hotel stay such as Hilton, Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza.

As mentioned the cheapest would be 1 day car hire and earns 700 QFF points.

Cool - that sounds like a good idea, as I would like to hire a car to do a bit of exploring up north.

Otherwise...I might get a BA linked CC and use that.

Thanks for your advice!

Mandy :)

BA linked credit card? That is not likely to help you QFF point balance. Is it?

Oh no, but with all my UK spending I may as well get something back for it - might manage a BA flight somewhere within my two years! Ive had a good look and generally think the Qantas linked card option is not feasible over there when charges / conversion rates taken into account. Oh well!

Thanks

Mandy :D
