Hi, I'm a new member and new to all this, I would like to know the best way of earning the most Freq flyer points, as I wish to do some overseas travel, hoping to use them as upgrades. (Is the best way to go) I have a Westpac Visa Altitude and Amex card. Can I get better points elsewhere, I've looked at Westpac Platinum card, but $295 per year seems abit rich. But it would give me 15 F/F points for $10 spend. Does this seem ok.
Thank for any help received.:p

welcome aboard rohomesite

take a look at the Credit Card forums where there is heaps of information about making the most of CC programs and earning ff points.

but maybe your starting point would be to consider an Amex Rewards Maximiser 1.5 points per $1 (it is possible to get this card with no annual fees, read the specific thread on how) and maybe a secondary card like Citibank no annual fee (1:1) which is used where the merchant does not accept Amex or wants to charge ++% fees.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Worry less about the points and more about the status credits. Try to maximise flights during you membership year to improve status. Once you reach gold you get additional points (cabin bonus) for flying. Most cards these days are linked to some rewards scheme. It's just a matter of working out which card meets your own needs best.

Robert (Barlow),

Let me put it another way.

Try "flying"!

After all, it is a Frequenr Flyer programme. And as a 4 digit Qantas Frequent Flyer I have to say that I do get a tad annoyed about all the posts about maximising credit card points. Put your bum on a seat (regularly) and then you earn the right to complain about availabiltiy of FF seats. Flame off.

Status doesn't seem to be a major issue since it would seem that he is looking to earn from credit cards
