Hello,

I'm looking at booking a flight to Veitnam with Velocity points. I've heard that there are usually better options for less points if I transfer my points to the KrisFlyer program and book with Singapore. I have signed up to KrisFlyer but I can't see available flights/points required on their website. I suspect this is because I have no points (I haven't transferred them).

Do I need to transfer the points prior before being able to see available flights and the points required?

Regards.

no .you should be able to do a booking enquiry with no points. Just log in and select the award booking option when putting in your enquiry. It will show availability and number of points required. Deduct 15% for online bookings

If you sign up for an All Nippon Airways account, you can use their website to search for award availability on Singapore Airlines and other Star Alliance. It's usually fairly accurate.

I tried to use this today. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me..Even with the cheat sheet from FT forum:confused:

You need to create an ANA account first - did you do that?

Failing that the Air Canada site should work too.

Yep -created an account. Did a search using ANA routes like the guide said and then couldn't get any further. The landing page seemed very different from the screen shot on the cheat sheet...

Various, but mostly searching award seats back from the UK/Europe to BNE or SYD on 2/3/4th Jan. I've got f SQ going out but need a return.

I've got TG seats up my sleeve, but the long layover in BKK is putting me off.

How long a layover in BKK? If you are in F you get the 1 hour massage to help fill in a little bit of time. ..

Yes, I see your problem. :-| Not interested in getting a hotel, or just wanna get through asap?

17 hours :eek:Thai is J class sadly . No F rewards available and no F class cabin on the 787 into BNE from BKK either..

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Normally I'd be happy to chill out in BKK for the day, but in this instance I'd rather have the extra hours in the UK with our family....
Might have to pay to get home ..;)

Thanks, this worked.

I think I had previously been selecting "Pay with KrisFlyer miles"
