Hi all,
I am looking at booking a last minute return classic flight reward to SE Asia (probably Singapore) for my partner and i. Is there a better to find out what availability there is other than searching every day separately on Qantas? I am ideally looking for EK404 SIN-MEL or EK432 SIN-BNE so that we can avoid a night flight.

Thanks everyone

In what cabin? You can tick flexible dates when you search and it will show you a calendar with what cabins are available with classic reward fares on each day. But you have to select each day individually to look at the specific flights available.

If you are booking a return flight, I suggest searching each leg separately.

Thanks for your advice @penguino - I am. Not too fussed on the class, it's the daytime flight that is important to us. I have picked up the flexible dates trick which is handy the downside is the inability to see the flights that we want and not the Jetstar redeye via DPS.

I will keep fiddling with it and see what I can find.

ExpertFlyer can search for EK awards, I believe "Business - Saver" are the J awards bookable through QFF. Hit +/- 3 days to view a full week at the time.

I'd suggest trying BCD Travel's search tool (Flight Availability - BCD Travel ) and Award Nexus (Award Nexus)

BCD Travel tool provides availability in all classes (U = Business award, X = Economy award) but only on specific dates searched for. You can check booking classes here: https://www.expertflyer.com/sessionlessClassList

Award Nexus allows you to do searches on a date plus 7 days and will also show if some sectors of multi-sector flights are in a lower booking class - which Qantas doesn't reveal until you look at the detailed flights.

Award Nexus works on a points system whereby each search cost a certain number of points - usually single figures. If you open a free community account (open a Flyertalk account first) you'll get immediately credited 90 points which should get you enough searches. When you run out you can wait for your points balance to be replenished for free after 90 days or pay for an immediate points credit.

Also suggest signing up to BA's Executive Club (using your UK holiday house's address) - their search tool seems sometimes to come up with availability that Qantas doesn't (mostly OneWorld partner airlines) and also shows how many award seats are available.

Happy searching.
