hi guys

how soon do points get credited after a flight?

I flew from SIN-HEL-BUD in J with AY and I triple checked and asked both Qantas (over the phone and at counter) and AY (at transfer desks) to ensure that my QFF number is attached to the ticket which they confirmed it was. This was on the 7th.

Today still nothing on the QFF statement (and neither on the Finnair plus one as one would expect)

So how long does this normaly take to show up on QFF statement when I flew with another airline?

cheers

Are you referring to the 7th as the 7th of September or a previous month?

If its September, QF generally do partner points on a weekly basis. An example is CX flights tend to post on a Tuesday for one. In other words you shouldn't be worrying just yet...

If its a previous month, I'd be chasing it up.

I have flown AY quite a few times crediting the points to my QFF account. I have found there is some glitch whereby the AY legs of the flight seem to credit within a week, however the QF metal legs never credit. This has happened at least 4 times to me and my girlfriend. I've told QFF including on the platinum phone number multiple times but nothing ever seems to get done about it and I have to email through scanned boarding passes etc. So don't throw them out!

We use AY a fair bit now. We tend to find crediting takes a day to a few weeks but always seems to work ... Though only experienced is from J tickets. I always make sure the BP has the FF number printed as well as Emerald.

For SWMBO she had an AY flight then a QF flight next day on separate PNRs. After exiting the AY flight she in theory changed status from OWS to OWE ... But the QF flight credited first and tipped her over the line to OWE / WP but only credited at SG points. A quick call and 2 emails later QF credited her the points difference for the QF flight as if she was a WP vs SG taking into account the status change happed with the AY flight as when the AY flight credits to your QF account it lists the actual flight date in the description.

oh ok, all good then. It was only in Septmber :)

many thanks!

Thanks for your patience during this time. Should you need to follow this up, our Frequent Flyer team would be happy to assist. They're available on 131131 or [email protected]. Usually a copy of your itinerary and boarding passes is enough to credit missing points. Let me know how you go. :)

thanks Red Roo.

Looks like I have an issue. I just checked my QFF account and the points are still not there (as I expected) however, I also logged in to my Finnair Plus account (which I only created to be able to select seats for my J flights) and the points have already appeared there !

Now this is very annoying as I have asked pretty much everyone to ensure that it will be my QFF account that gets the points, no the Finnair one. I asked the lady in Sydney at QFF desk when I checked in, I asked two different people at different Transfer desks in Singapore (one of them asked me for my Qantas card and scanned it and confirmed that 100% I will get the points on the QFF account, not Finnair). So I was suprised that after all this, the points appeared on the Finnair account.

The boarding passes were not reprinted when I asked at the Transfer desks in SIN and they show Finnair Plus FF. I did highlight this to the person and they said dont worry, points have been set up to go to my QFF and no need to reprint the BP.

So two questions:

1. How do I get the points and status credits to be issued to my QFF account from my Finnair account? Can Finnair do this for me?

2. How do I ensure that my return trip is correctly credited to my QFF account?

thanks in advance!

No help to you, sorry, but for what it is worth, I had no trouble selecting seats just using my booking reference. Their booking engine also recognised my QF WP status and gave me some decent choice of seats.

I have also had the same issue with getting points/SCs credited for AY flights. However, QFF Platinum staff have always been very helpful in rectifying the problem. But do keep your boarding passes. Keeping all boarding passes until all points and SCs are credited is sensible precaution and saves a lot of angst when there is a glitch.

Exactly the same thing happened to me recently - AY legs credited in a bout a week; prior Qantas metal legs (AY code share) yet to post after 3 weeks.
