Looking at doing a SC run in LOTFAP in May. However i will do it and then return straight back to Oz (Less than 24hrs after completing the SC run). Is there a method to get near instant posting of SC to my QF account? Falling back to PS next month so hoping for lounge access as i am leaving LAX...

Obviously i will put my QFF number in the AA booking. But is it worth calling QF once i have completed all the flights to see if they can speed the process up?

Or will i just have to cross my fingers that an AFF member wilbe able to guest me in?

ANy insight would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers gogo

You cannot influence how quickly your SCs post to QFF. In my experience, my AA SCs post to QF within 1-3 days.

The cut off appears to be around 3pm American time. Flights before 3pm on a weekday generally credit within 1 day. Flights after 3pm on a weekday (except Friday) credit within 2 days. Flights on weekends and Friday evenings may take up to 3 days.

When mrsdrron and I travel together her AA flights post to QF usually at the same time as mine post to AA.

I've only ever done one of those multisegment AA flights. The SC posting was all over the place including but not limited to a P class fare crediting to QF as discount whY.
It was all sorted out on return by scanning and emailing my AA boarding passes. Based on my limited experience I would not rely on the AA flights to get you over the line for Lounge Access on return and have a back-up plan in place eg. Admirals Club Pass

Around 2 years ago, it was always once a week sweep from AA to QF. These days, as mentioned, it's 1-3. I've never had an AA flight in the past 18 months take longer than 3 days (it's far more reliable than JQ crediting to QF go figure).

Keep your BP's just in case, but i've had no issues, as long as my OW status shows on the BP.

(FWIW, i've taken around 120 AA flights in the past 3 years, and not one has failed to credit yet)

I Mainly fly F/A/P fares, and fortunately have not had the experience that PF has had. YMMV of course.

One thing to note, if you do attain status whilst travelling, be sure to have the AA Agent remove and re-add your QFF number when you check in for any subsequent flights after attaining higher status. I've noticed that it does not always update (when I went from PS to SG on one trip many years ago, QFF showed SG, my AA BP had PS; they removed and re-added the QFF, and voila, it was SG).

Thanks for the info everyone.. I should have enough of the flights posted in time to be at QF gold for some lounge access on the way home then!

cheers gogo

Agree with all sentiments expressed - 1-3 days and also to have the number removed and re-added if it hasn't updated to the new status.
