I can book SYD to SIN, SIN to DXB, DXB to SYD in Business class for 3 of us in April 2021 using my Qantas points flying on British Airways and Emirates. As Classic Rewards is free to cancel until 31 October 2020, if I cancel after that date, is it 7,700 points per person each flight? If British Airways and Emirates still decides to fly but I don't want to risk it come April 2021, am I up for 23,100 points or 69,300 points should I wish to cancel the 3 flights for the 3 of us. Plus do I get back the $2000 in taxes that I have paid.

The cancellation fee is 6000 points per person, per ticket. If you have all your flights on one ticket, it's just 6000 points. If you get two separate tickets, out and back, it would be...

There are reasons why people buy two tickets, but you likely wouldn't buy three for an itinerary like yours.

Thank you. They have changed new international tickets purchased after a certain date to 7700 points. I can handle 23100 points lost but not 69300 points.

Do you have a link to that? The current fees page states 6000 points: Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions | Qantas

Cancellation Refund Fee
For changes made up to and including 31 October 2020: The cancellation fee will be waived.
For changes made on and from 1 November 2020:
Fee: 6,000 Qantas Points per passenger

I just re read it and made a mistake. It is 6000 points. the 7700 is if you ask them for assistance

psmall - that's the aware assistance fee - if you need to contact Qantas Frequent Flyer and speak with someone to assist you with your booking. This could be in addition to the cancellation fee, depending on the reason for you cancelling, and why you needed to call. (You should be able to book and cancel the flight on line to avoid this fee.)

It's a bit ambiguous as the general frequent flyer T&Cs that MEL_Traveller linked to seem to suggest that the cancellation fee would be waived on all reward flight bookings, not just Qantas and Jetstar.
I'm concerned because it is British Airways and Emirates. I guess if I send them off an email, I have it in writing the answer.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There is no need to be concerned. AFF is a wonderful resource with dozens of very frequent flyers, very knowledgeable in the qantas award product.

Multiple airlines on the one ticket makes no difference, british airways, emirates, or any other combinations. The cancellation fee is the same :)
