Hi,

My wife and I are booked Sydney to London and then Venice via Singapore in May so on the new 777 service. We are booked in premium economy World Traveller+.

I have read, mainly on FlyerTalk, that BA often offers a bargain priced upgrade at time of check in - in our case it would be up to Club World / business class.

Does anyone know how likely this is to happen and does anyone know from experience of being offered such upgrades what the price might be?

Our other alternative is to cancel the BA flights which incurs a $300 fee each, and we can get Aadvantage business class flights with Malaysian Airlines via KUL. Would cost about $2000 extra compared to what paying now and have to buy EasyJet or similar flights in Europe to get to Venice as no award flights available at the moment.

My wife is concerned that Malaysian business class not that good and wants to hold out for a BA upgrade offer but that isn't guaranteed of course.

Thanks,
Dale.
