Which did you get the target for first? Stays, spend, nights, or credit card?

Me, I just ticked into diamond on nights (missed diamond last year by four nights).

I'm interested to see if anyone makes it through spend. I'm always much lower due to booking cheap rooms.

You forgot status match as an option!

I did that first, now have the option of gold via the cc. Not sure if I can be loyal enough to earn it via nights or stays but admittedly since the match and buying points I've been trying out more hiltons.

I only started the hotel game in 2011. I did a challenge with Hilton. 3 or 4 stays in 90 days gave you gold. I had just booked my major award trip to Bali on CX. I got gold and did some twitter promotion and won a free night anywhere in the world. So I booked in 6 nights in Conrad Bali and then 2 nights ( one paid) at Conrad Hong Kong. Funny that "free" night counted towards my base points that year, so I was able to retain gold pretty easy. Then I got the US Amex which gave gold for spending $20k or diamond for $40k.
Then the card just gave you gold automatically, so I pushed for diamond. This year, 2016, I managed diamond on nights due to moving into the Hilton Brisbane.

I've moved out, it's safe to stay there again......:p

Status match.

There's no way I'd get anywhere near status with my own money.

I was comped Gold in 2005. Maintained that with BiB (stays) until earning Diamond in 2011- that took me through 2012.

Used Velocity benefit for 2013/2014, back to BiB 2015 - my Diamond will expire next year ... back to Silver ...

Loyal to HH throughout. Diamond on all counts of stays/nights/spend which is why I get a tad annoyed when they forget to look after me.

Diamond from VA in 2011, maintained through base points/spend since then.
After several disappointments earlier in the year I'm not renewing and will drop to Gold in March 2017.

Similar here. Spasmodic Hilton guest pre the VA SM (circa 2011 I think) and since then have maintained each year via either stays or base points. This year is on stays (so I've checked the "stay" box), last year was on base points. Next year I'm contemplating reducing the stays and use a VA SM that's sitting in my account as I expect to flag away VA plat status as of March 2018 and I'm assuming I'll lose the SM option at that point, so that would see me keep diamond until March 2020 I believe. Provided I'm still doing the PNG thing, I'll be able use 2019 stays to sort it out from then on forward until I finish in PNG.

I got mine through being Gold at VAA in June-15 but my Gold expires in March next year. I am hoping that I get an increased salary at work then I can maintain Gold through Macquarie Bank Hilton Platinum. I've enjoyed my Gold but not quite staying enough - if I don't get the credit card I am going to drop to Silver :( :(

VA Gold match and then will maintain Gold ( next week ) with my 20th stay....I can maintain "only just" with my daughter being in USA due to visits..but if she comes home I will let it drop

Just made Silver on the back of Amex credits for a few stays in Cairns... have run out of Amex cards, so that'll be the end of my Hilton experience.

Status match with VA
Status through Russian CC
Status match with IHG

Only Gold each time but no way with spend or nights

SM from Accor Platinum till 2018. Will need to get a Macquarie Hilton card after that - though am directing more stays to HH previously mostly to SPG.
Citi annual double points redemption bonus helps with those award nights - makes them effectively half price.
