Airbus Wins Order for A380s From Hong Kong Airlines - Bloomberg

10 A380s for delivery from 2015.

This order has been lined up for a while, I went on an A380 prototype earlier in the year and you could see the Hong Kong Airlines logo covered up when walking up the stairs. The order was blocked by China over the EU Emissions tax, which China is now taking a different approach by flatly refusing to pay.

I wonder if anyone on AFF has ever flown Hong Kong airlines? If so, what were they like? I remember getting my booze on with a Hong Kong airlines pilot in coughet - he spoke highly of the airline.

The A380 order is interesting: would love to see the interior config!

I plan to try them this year either hkg-dps or bkk.

They don't have much positive to say about them on pprune! Can't be any worse than 3k though.

I've heard good things about them, although being a OW Sapphire, it's a tough ask for me to try them out instead of sticking with CX for my SIN-HKG hops...
