I'm in Sydney for NYE and require only a 1 night stay, however Hilton is blocking anything that's less than 3 nights. Is there a way to get around this? I'm a Diamond member and thought they might be able to unlock a stay for me considering all room types are still available if you search from 30/12/16 to 02/01/17

Any advice/tips would be appreciated :)

Have you tried ringing them? HSP is the same IIRC. Otherwise try booking the 3 nights, leave it a few days then ring the desk to cancel two of the nights. Be careful they haven't also placed a non-cancellable condition on usually cancellable rates though (HSW did that during the racing period).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I called the property directly and the booking agent gave me the impression they could potentially open up rooms if they don't sell right before but otherwise no deal. I will have a look at your 3 night booking plan, that could work! Thanks :) I'm wondering though if this in breach of their own Diamond terms and conditions since the property is clearly not sold out by more than 2%

Excellent point. Guaranteed room availability. I have the feeling though they'd argue that the room is available, you just have to book it for 3 nights. :(

Nope not valid. NYE is declared exempt:

This guarantee also does not apply to any hotel during Extraordinary Demand Dates. The term "Extraordinary Demand Dates" are dates determined by the hotel and Hilton HHonors, in their sole discretion, that are consistently popular reservation dates for guests, such as during major events in the area or New Year's Eve

Previous years I have seen availability open up around the $1000 mark and could have been more but it was getting close and cant remember if it was weeks or days before. Best I have seen is $500 on the day and it sold out quickly.

One night stay has finally appeared , but at $1300 ouch.

Oh wow....
Even with my 2 amex promos left that's not a good deal haha. Might just buy a cardboard box and see what kinda facilities the harbour bridge has to offer for Diamond members

Price should drop as it gets closer especially if they start to offer guestrooms.
