The Hilton promenade is a fairly new property. The rooms are fairly large and well appointed.

The place is part of a large developement.the Hilton is one of 4 blocks of accommodation.acroos the mall is the "south tower"a hilton badged apartment building. The fellow in front of us was upgraded to there but appeared to be a regular. The other 2 blocks appear to be time shares and they have the water views of Lake Taneycomo formed by the damming of the White River. So our view was of the apartment block next door. The ground floor of the buildings are retail outlets and on the lake front are restaurants.a Bass pro store is next door.Across the tracks is the Convention Centre and the Hilton Convention centre.Yes I do mean railroad tracks and the coal trains do go through at night.
At checkin there were 2 agents at the desk.In front of 1 was a queue of 4 people.the second agent was at the Hhonors checkin so we walked up to her.She didn't look up for ~2 minutes then she walked away.We got on the other queue.no doorman was visible and no luggage trolleys so i had to make a couple of trips schlepping our bags.
In room-1 bottle of complimentary water.Coupon for continental breakfast.this was served in restaurant. You could upgrade to full buffet for $6.You were asked if you would like orange juice when you handed over the coupon.i asked if they had tomato juice-no so i took the OJ.Mrsdrron asked if they had apple juice told yes, given an empty glass and told ask the server for it-we didn't see a server-well at least we saved a tip!selection of pastries etc was certainly not as good as HGIs and the 2 hamptons we stayed at had better brekkies.
So a good room,no view and little service.Price was $US149.

I am just adding my $2 worth ....

and it was very noisy. The complex does a light, music and water show a couple of times a night - the last time at 10pm - so no early night, plus the trains - a couple during the night. So not a quite peaceful nights sleep for mrs.dr.ron

I think we need mrs.dr.ron's views on all their hotel stays!

I have to ask... What on earth were you doing in Branson MO?

Well is certainly wasnt to see the shows. Branson is the place that old entertainers go to retire. Driving in we saw a billboard promoting the Andy Williams show, now we saw AW in Las vegas about 25 years ago and he was old then, so he must be 95 in the shade now. Actually Branson must be the place to retire as 90% of workers that we saw were old, and the shows start at 10am. Las Vegas it aint.

You didn't go to see the hillbilly family that advertise on every second bilboard?! :D

It's a kind of vacation destination for people in KS & MO that can't afford to go elsewhere at the time. Well at least some people seemed to be enjoying it!
