Don't know mate - little chance I will be booking so I won't be analysing - may be of benefit to others who don't normally access Ctrip - just noticed Waldorf Astoria in SH looked cheap so thought I would post link.

I'd have to go an check, but my understanding with booking via 3rd parties is that yes, status should certainly be recognised. I think points are earned as well, though I believe nothing counts towards status, no stay, nights or points.
