Hi,

Only been looking around here for a week - but I have found soooo much interesting and useful information in that time (thank you all)

My circumstances are that we are a couple, ok financially, haven't done much international travel but do a bit of domestic travel for fun (I get a week off every 4 weeks and like to go somewhere every 2-3 months plus the odd long weekend).

We will be doing some more travel internationally as time goes by.

I have joined the Velocity FF program and got a Virgin Money credit card as it seemed a pretty cheap way to do a couple of the Sydey-Darwin and Sydney-Cairns trips I would like to take in business class this year.

Also i think i will sign up for an Amex Platinum Edge credit card to collect some points that can be siphoned towards the velocity program (and the free flight kind of pays for the annual card fee)

I guess I'll be scouring the forums to work out the best ways of using velocity points and where/how to get the best deals on accommodation.

Anyway, thanks for a great forum, and, if I ask dumb questions, please be gentle :)

thx

dean

Hi Dean, and welcome to AFF.

There is lots to learn once you navigate the different threads. It sounds like you are off to a good start. And don't worry about stupid questions. Chances are someone else will be wondering the same thing.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thank you :)

I've had a quick peak in the Virgin Velocity thread but I can't see where it explains this (and I can't think of a search clever enough to just narrow the results down to what I need):

Virgin has 3 classes of domestic travel that I can see: Saver, Flexi & Business. Im assuming as far as status goes, Saver = Discount Economy and Business = Business/First Class - but what does Flexi = ? I'd guess Full Fare Economy rather than Premium Economy, but it's just a guess - am I correct?

thx

I think you have it. I am a DJ newbie myself however MEL-SYD saver = 10SCs, flexi (economy) = 20 and business = 40.
