HELP! Waitlist and booking - I think...

OK -I booked a reward seat and held a waitlist and got this . WTF do I do now? I tried calling SQ help but am no further forward. they told me I had to do a confirmed booking and the waitlist in two separate bookings (oopsie) . I have NO idea if my confirmed booking is actually confirmed as it says 'please confirm'.. and what happens re my waitlist. and yes -I am blonde. can anyone give me any advice here?

DO consider that you have a couple of days to complete the booking. You might use this extra time if you want to hold out for one of the other flights SYD-SIN flights if they suit you better.

SQ have advised that once I confirm the flight, then my waitlisted flight will be cancelled. What can I do to avoid this? Happy to confirm but want to stay on the waitlist for the later flight..

The issue is that 26 Aug 2200 (GMT +8) the confirmed sectors will disappear off your current booking and you will only be left with your two waitlisted SYD-SIN sectors.

Consider the following:

a) Call the call centre ( you are a First class pax) and ask if they can meet your request. No cost to request before booking.

b) How is your miles supply? Start another waitlisted booking before you ticket this one (don't cancel your existing). Set it up to be your preferred itin. This can sit there and identify for you when/of it becomes available.

c) If you want to ensure you are on your way on a journey, ticket the currently confirmed flights. This means you can organise and plan the rest of your trip.

d) You will still have your other waitlist in the system to let you know if seats ever become available. If they do, then after receiving that notification, call the Call CEntre and ask them how to get you onto that other flight.

Others may have more ideas.

YOur current waitlisted flights are on the same booking that you are going to ticket. Once it is ticketed, then the system has fulfilled this requirement and the other inventory os no longer required for this redemption and is released.

The waitlist in the case of redemptions operates differently to how it might for a paid tix.

You would put a new redemption booking into the system. You will need to have enough miles to do this. That's why I suggest do that before ticketing of this confirmed suite.

Ok, so I've got another booking for march in the System. It looks nothing like my other waitlisted booking because it has no set date to confirm by. Does his mean I have no time limit as yet to confirm my available sectors? here it is

I have WL a flight and although it doesn't say so, I think I have booked a flight showing on the same "reference number" as I can see the other confirmed SYD-AMS flight, as a later same day departure.

But I haven't paid any money. So, how do I book a confirmed 2nd choice flight??

Sure is. I stopped panicking, conformed the day I wanted and will maybe put in a WL for the flight 4 hours later, later. I don't have endless points though.

I'm trying to do the same. I want the later flight ideally. THe email sounds like they have confirmed your wait list though doesn't it?

Will do. Although I don't want to confirm my available booking just yet ( if I don't have to) because I'd prefer the later flight. I just hate not understanding what I see when I log in...

Took the advice of Cruiser Elite and called SQ. We are now confirmed on the available seats and still waitlisted on the later flight. At least I can sleep easy now that at least one flight is ticketed. Thanks for all your help

Yes on hold for quite a while. I looked up the number on the website. . We rang the kris flyer number rather than the Brisbane reservation number as the Brisbane office was closed. They were very helpful. Glad we rang though because it seemed that we only had until 29th August to confirm the available seats, even though there was no date on the actual booking....
