not many positive responses for the current cricket safety video. Most people from OS wouldn't understand it or give a toss.

So what ideas can we offer the red roo to help them out?

Well there is an AFF dinner this Saturday night. Surely they should come and film one featuring us.

Is there any big movies being made in AU currently or about to be release?

What about they just scrap the safety video completely. On QF A380 J PAX and PE PAX don't have a screen anyway an apparently they are still safe:shock:

Something set in an old people's home??? Some of their flight attendants might fit right in?? :)

Nah that is being unkind...

Its hard to make those safety messages interesting or be new... Anything too interesting and you may forget to pay attention to the message... I liked the one that was running on AA where they just get everyone in the organisation from FA's to pilots to baggage handlers etc saying snippets of it... AJ could maybe get a pass if his accent was little difficult...

A simple straight forward video describing the emergency procedures and locations of exits etc.

No celebrities or "ambassadors" are needed, it is a safety video and should not be meant to come across as entertainment, nor should it be an opportunity to tout who Qantas does or doesn't sponsor.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment I think part of why they put celebs/sports people in the video is to get people to watch the video - sadly it is done in a crushingly awful way...

Given QF's past history I must agree- they should rather keep their fingers off it and leave that kind of stuff to the Kiwis. Just make it a safety video without those stupid wanna-be jokes or local celebs!

Or row 4 on the newer 737s.

Doesn't stop the cringeworthy audio though.

On NZ they come and pull your screen up before the safety demo, and then get you to stow it once finished.

What about getting some value out of all their celebrity 'ambassadors' – Mark Weber, Miranda Kerr, even John Travolta - it'd be like a celebrity spotting game.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Leave it to the front line staff who are the real assets, and probably the lowest cost when it comes to doing a video, they are the true pros.

This is my preference too.

John Travolta wasn't well received last time around was he?

"Listen to this or you might die."

Just facts, no niceties. End.

The cricket one is excruciating.

Decrease how long it takes - half the problem is with all the celebrity spotting it takes too long (I know there's restrictions based on compulsory information).

Do qantas hire an agency to do these? If so, they have a hell of a lot to answer for because this announcement is so bad it makes me want to jump off the plane and get myself sucked into one of the engines.
