Hi There
I have been trying to book 2 tickets to Hawaii using our Qantas frequent flyer points….
Can someone shed some light on this because I cannot find ANY award flights between now and end of October?
Thanks
Bec from Sydney

Searching for Awards Seats...

Award seats are available for booking from 353 days prior to departure. It is likely that you cannot find award seats because they have all been booked much earlier.

Re: Searching for Awards Seats...

You'd struggle to find anything for October I'd imagine. You really do need to be looking for much earlier for these award seats.

ok i notice that i can pay with points n pay sorta thing..... whats everyones thoughts on that?

It is a popular route with Qantas services 3 days/week.

You would need to book very early.

If you don't care/mind about how you use your points (because you have millions or just don't care) then points & pay is useful. Other than that, it is very poor value in my opinion.

Are you trying to reem Y or J? If Y, I'd just pay for a ticket (unless I have millions of points or just don't care). If you're after J, forget about it at this last minute. And in any instance, isnt QF J to HNL just a premium economy seat and not a lay flat one.

Hawaii is a very hard destination to get FF seats on, unless you book 9-11 months in advance!

You'd best be waiting for a Qantas or even Hawaiian Airlines sale fare and booking then!

Hi Bec from Sydney,

From a direct perspective: 2 Y seats on QF3 on Sept 27. A few dates toward the end of October where JQ4 has 2 Y seats.

Cheaper from a points perspective than Pay&Points: there's quite a bit of availability in Y routing SYD-LAX-HNL-LAX-SYD.

You might also want to call the QFFC and see if there's any availability on JL via NRT.

Neither of the indirects are ideal from a flying-time perspective but when you leave it this late, beggars can't be choosers!!

Regards,

BD
