Hi everyone

I joined up to AFF quite a while ago yet haven't spent as much time as I would've liked exploring and learning all I can about all the different topics on offer here.

I've been meaning to be more active and thought this would be a good first step.

I'm only a casual flyer however have been trying to earn as many Qantas frequent flyer points (credit card bonus's etc) over the past couple of years in order to be able to use these in the future. Ideally for a trip to Mexico - upgrading to business class where possible.

Just wanted to say hi ... and now its time to get my read on!

Welcome aboard jkcfc, glad you have taken the first step toward active membership.

Dont be shy now :)

Welcome lots of good resources here and even more knowledgeable contributors.

Hi jkcfc,

Welcome to AFF. :D

Hi guys

I've finally got a month of leave approved, woo!!!, so am trying to plan our trip to Mexico in Oct. I keep finding that I'm reading the same information and finding it tough to work out the best use of our points (~450k QFF between us).

I'm getting lost trying to work out if we'd be able to complete a OneWorld economy trip or if its best to just put in a multi-city itinerary into Qantas of the places we want to visit into (LA, Mex City, Havana, NY) and use our points on that.

I've gone through many of the 'Selected AFF threads' however was wondering if anyone could quickly link me to any others which may help me out.

Thanks,
Jason

There is a sticky in the QFF forum on the Oneworld award. It is 140,000 QFF points, up to 35,000 miles, 16 sectors, 5 stopovers. It starts off as a multi-city itinerary and becomes a Oneworld award when you include 2 Oneworld airlines other than Qantas.

Availability could be your biggest obstacle at this late stage.

Thanks John ... have been back through the sticky all weekend and it's helped big time.

Cheers
